Theme: "iAdvising...Advisement on a Global Scale"
The purpose of the Mississippi Advisors Meeting (MAM) is to provide professional development and continuing education for advisors in the state of Mississippi, create an environment of networking, set common goals for fellow advisors, emphasize the importance of advising, and stress the mission of the National Advising Association (NACADA) and encourage attendance at the regional and national conferences of NACADA.
Our annual conference serves as a meeting point for lecturers and researchers in all academic disciplines and cultures including athletics personnel. We're expecting participation from all academia—community college, higher education, and private institutions across the state of Mississippi—sharing best practices in advising and advising with technology.
MAM President Lanna Miller of Mississippi State University will give an overview of MAM and the important role MAM has in enhancing the advisors' advising knowledge and skills.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Lawrence T. Potter, Jr., Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Jackson State University, addressing advising and retention strategies.
The registration fee for this conference is $60.00. Late registration fee is $65.00 and onsite registration is $70.00. The registration deadline for the Mississippi Advisors Meeting (MAM) will be Friday, September 30, 2013. Those interested may make oral or poster presentations. The deadline for submission is Friday, October 4, 2013. All proposals must be submitted electronically to Mrs. F. Janelle Hannah-Jefferson at email@example.com.
